Choose your appointment from the calendar, pay your lesson fee through PayPal, and we’ll meet via Zoom (or Skype or Teams). I can work with you to improve your bass technique, jazz vocabulary, sound, bass lines, solos and all-around musicianship. I can offer you career advice, filtered through my experiences as a professional jazz bassist for the past 40+ years.
Think about your questions in advance, and prepare what you’d like to play for me. A productive way to use our lesson time is to concentrate on materials found in my books and Discover Double Bass Courses, my work with the WDR Big Band, or my albums as a bandleader or sideman. I would recommend that you explore some of this material in advance if you’d like to learn how I learned to play the bass.
For best results, use headphones for your lesson. Make sure that you have a strong internet connection, and that others in your household are not using high-data internet services during your lesson (Netflix, Hulu).
