“Danish Moods” WDR Big Band featuring Palle Mikkelborg and Carsten Dahl
Palle Mikkelborg and Carsten Dahl are two of Denmark’s most distinctive jazz musicians, sharing a taste of the current Danish jazz scene while performing in Bremen. They are not only brilliant soloists, but also talented composers, performing alongside the WDR Big Band. The grammy successes of 2007 and 2008 reflect the growing international reputation of this big band. The orchestra’s profile is defined by a broad musical spectrum. The internationally-staffed big band has a close relationship to jazz „made in Europe”. The project “Danish Moods”, which has been conceptualized especially for jazzahead! is another example of that.
