Bass Notes

Bass Notes

Book & CD Set

For all Bassists, Acoustic and Electric who want insight into constructing and improvising effective walking bass lines.

John Goldsby writes: Bass Notes is a study method for bassists to learn more about walking bass lines. I have transcribed my bass lines from 10 standard jazz compositions exactly the way I played them on the Jamey Aebersold Play-Along Series. A CD is included so you can hear my bass line with the rhythm section (piano and drums) and follow along or play-along with the transcription. The CDs are recorded so my bass track can be turned off completely and you can use the CD as a “play-along” to practice the written lines or to improvise your own bass lines. There is also analysis of each bass line and suggestions for improvising your own lines.
